About the Author
Amanda Lynn Hinson resided in Russia with her husband and four children. She is first and foremost a wife and mother, but enjoys writing and learning more about Russia as well as Far East cultures. She has been a contributing editor for The Humanities and Social Studies of the Far East, a science journal and is also a singer/songwriter/public speaker for various venues in Russia and America.
Amanda grew up in Minnesota, graduating from Perham High School as Student Council Class President and Valedictorian in 1998. She graduated from North Central University summa cum laude with a BA in Mass Communications, winning the National Collegiate Communications Award and Mass Communications Student of the Year in 2001.
Amanda worked in promotions at KOOL 108 radio, then went on to work as a TV Producer for Hughston Sports Medicine of Columbus, GA before opening and running her own video business in MN. She has written scores of articles for newspapers, several productions for theaters, and now the book, Wide Open Curtains: A Journal of a Pregnant American in Russia.
